Sisters In Service (SIS)

St.  John Sisters in Service Chapter

In November 2004, Michelle Rickett, President of Sisters in Service, was guest speaker for our Thank Offering Sunday.  In February 2005 women from our church began meeting together to read "Daughters of Hope" written by Michelle Rickett and Kay Marshall Strom.  We read stories from this book of the witness and courage of women in the face of persecution and spent time in prayer for them, their children, countries and governments.  We were educated about the plight of women in many countries who are abused and have little or no freedom except the freedom they have found in Jesus Christ.  Our hearts were touched and in August 2005 after finishing "Daughters of Hope" we knew we wanted to extend our love by creating a Sisters in Service Chapter for our community.  Our plans are to meet regularly to pray, plan and raise resources for a selected project.
